How Can I Use Technology to:

   Duplicate my efforts?

   Individualize instruction?

   Model multiple means of self-expression?

   Develop MultiCultural Thematic Units?

   Express my own professional development?

I have enjoyed student creativity and imagination as expressed through PowerPoint Presentations.  These presentations are more alive and more representative of the world of multiple-mass communications that we experience today.

I hope to present a variety of PowerPoint Book Presentations that will entertain, educate, inspire and empower you.  Read the annotations below and then click the link to a presentation.

The Importance of Storytelling.  This presentation is based on Pieces of White Shell by Terry Tempest Williams.  The thoughts in this book provide a portal to the stories we hold within our life's experiences.  Who we are to ourselves and others can be more clearly understood and related to as we find a significance and meaning to events that define us daily or mark major turning points in our lives.

Learning How to Get Along Together.  This is the wonderful story of how Zinnia and Dot, two very unfriendly individuals, learn to overcome their differences and get along.  It wasn't easy.  A weasel tried to get between the two of them and almost, but not quite, succeeded.  Read how Zinnia and Dot are able to accomplish something together they could never do alone.  Learn why they are much happier at the end of the story!

How do some people live in two countries?  This is the exciting story of how a young man, then his family and finally his grandson, came to love and live in two countries.  When the grandfather was a young man, he wanted to visit America.  He wanted to go places he had never been, see things he had never seen and do things he had never done before.  His adventure did not stop with himself.  His wife, daughter, and grandson became part of this living adventure.

Read the book or see the presentation of Grandpa's Journey, by Takaaki Nomura.

How might we sure our appreciation for the acts of kindness performed by others?  This is a wonderful bilingual Japanese folk tale about a crippled swan that was helped by an old farmer and his wife.

One day the farmer found the sick swan and took it into his home so that its health could be restored.  After days of food, care and loving attention, the swan was well enough to fly away.

The next day, a young woman appeared at their door and began to do wonderful things for the family, but there was a secret she had to protect.  Did the old man discover her secret?  Did they discover the true identity of the young woman?  Read this book to find out.
