Welcome to the Literature and Literacy site.  This is the entrance to information about books, book lists, literature circles and the issues these materials describe.

Book Presentations are PowerPoint presentations that I have downloaded and have used to share multicultural books with elementary children.  There are also post-reading activities for the teacher to continue after I complete the presentation,

Book Reviews are selections recommended or which I have read that are of interest to many young adults.  I look forward to when I can begin including student reviews of their favorite books.

Transitions: Young Adult to Adult strives to provide Young Adult readers who have become familiar with a particular author or genre related adult books for their continued reading enjoyment.  The works of four authors have been selected, Tony Hillerman, Robert Ludlum, Robin Cook and Rudolfo Anaya.

Literature Circles provides the roles, the materials for group and social collaboration on a book.  These Literature Circles provide everyone a role and a responsibility in an effort to hear everyone's voice.

The Reading Lists are a resource to help teachers and students find what is available, recommended and, or course, interesting.  The lists are organized according to a) grade, b) theme, c) organizations.

Young Adult Issues is an effort to gather articles, essays, interviews and other materials to help us make informed decisions about what we value, believe and the role we will play in society.

I hope these sites will help you find what you are looking for.
